This guide tells you what is there, what it costs (mostly nothing), the best time to go, and how to reach it with or without a car.

What is Dubai Creek Harbour?
Dubai Creek Harbour is a new city district built by Emaar, the same company behind Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall. It stands on the banks of Dubai Creek, next to the Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary.
Think of it as a calm, modern waterfront. There are tall homes and hotels, wide walking paths, a marina, parks and open views across the water to the Downtown skyline. It is also the planned home of Dubai Creek Tower, a future landmark that is still to come.
People do not come here for rides or malls. They come for the view, the walk, and a quiet evening by the water. If you liked the sunset at Dubai Marina but want fewer crowds, this is your place. You can also add it to a bigger day plan from our guide to the best things to do in Dubai.
Best things to do in Dubai Creek Harbour
There is no ticket gate and no long list of rides. The best things to do in Dubai Creek Harbour are simple ones:
- Walk The Viewing Point: the star of the area, covered in the next section.
- Stroll the Harbour Promenade and the Dubai Creek Harbour walk: a long, flat waterfront path made for slow evening walks, jogging and cycling. The skyline sits in front of you the whole way.
- Spend time at Creek Marina: the marina area has yachts, art pieces, cafes and restaurants, and some of the best sunset seats in the district.
- Let the kids run at Creek Play: a 350 metre play promenade with seven play zones, one for each emirate of the UAE.
- Relax in the parks: Central Park and Creekside Park have lawns, play areas and sports courts (details below).
- See the flamingos at Ras Al Khor: a free nature reserve about 5 minutes away by car (details below).

The Viewing Point and the sunset
The Viewing Point is the one thing you must not miss. It is a 70 metre steel walkway that reaches out over the creek. The last 26 metres hang over the water, about 11.65 metres above it. From the end, you get a wide, open view of Dubai Creek, the Downtown skyline and Burj Khalifa.
Two facts make it even better. Entry is free, and it is open all hours, as the official Visit Dubai page for The Viewing Point confirms in its FAQ. You do not book, you do not queue for a ticket. You just walk in.
Come just before sunset. The sky turns orange behind the towers, the city lights switch on, and the creek reflects both. Visit Dubai suggests about one hour here for photos. On weekends it gets busy near sunset, so arrive a little early to get a spot at the rail.
From here, Burj Khalifa looks small and far. If you want to see it up close as well, pair this trip with our Burj Khalifa guide on another day. Downtown more your side? The Dubai Fountain shows run all evening, every 30 minutes. For a Downtown day out, add Dubai Aquarium in Dubai Mall.

Dubai Creek Harbour restaurants and cafes
You will not go hungry here. Dubai Creek Harbour restaurants sit mainly around Creek Marina and the hotels on the waterfront, so you can eat with a view of the water and the skyline.
Names you will see around the marina and promenade include Mondoux, Soulgreen Dubai, Saya, and Boardwalk. The hotels, Vida Creek Harbour and Address Grand Creek Harbour, also have their own restaurants and lounges. Check each venue for its own hours and prices.
Honest tip: this is not a budget food area. Most places are mid-range to premium. If you want a cheap evening, enjoy the free views first and eat somewhere else after. If you want one special dinner with a skyline view, book a table near sunset.

Dubai Creek Harbour Park and family spots
Families like this area because children can move. The main green space people mean by “Dubai Creek Harbour Park” is Central Park. It is about the size of six football fields, with an amphitheatre, a playground, a skate park, a fitness plaza and even a dog park.
Creekside Park is the second green spot. It has children’s play areas, fitness zones, sports courts, an amphitheatre and art sculptures along tree-lined paths.
Then there is Creek Play on the promenade, the long play strip for kids. None of these need a ticket. Bring water and hats, as shade is limited in the middle of the day.
Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary: flamingos next door
Five minutes from the harbour, at the end of Dubai Creek, sits Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary. This protected wetland is famous for its pink flamingos, and it is one of the best free things to do in this part of Dubai.
You watch the birds from viewing hides at the edge of the water. The hides are free to use, and families do not need to book. Per Visit Dubai, the hides are open from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM in winter, and from 6 AM to 6 PM from April to September. The flamingos feed between 10 AM and 4 PM, so plan your stop inside those hours. About one hour is enough.
Easy plan: do the flamingos in the early afternoon, between 1 and 3 PM, then drive to The Viewing Point to arrive before sunset. It is one of the nicest free evenings in Dubai.

How to reach Dubai Creek Harbour
The Dubai Creek Harbour location is on the Ras Al Khor side of Dubai Creek, across the water from Dubai Festival City. Here are your options.
- By Metro + taxi. There is no Metro station inside Dubai Creek Harbour yet. Emaar says a Blue Line station is planned for 2029. For now, ride the Green Line to Creek station, the last stop (see our Dubai Metro map). From there, take a short taxi ride to the harbour. A boat link between the harbour and the Metro exists on weekdays only — see the boat section below. On weekends, use the taxi from Creek station.
- By RTA boat (the fun way). RTA runs boat lines from Dubai Creek Harbour Marine Transport Station, which is about a 5 minute walk from The Viewing Point. Schedule as published by RTA through the Dubai Media Office:
- Weekdays (Mon–Fri): boats to Al Jaddaf and Creek Metro station (the RTA release calls it Al Khor Metro Station — same station, Al Khor is its Arabic name), 7:30 AM to 10:50 AM and 4:00 PM to 10:50 PM.
- Weekends (Sat–Sun): boats to Dubai Festival City only, 4:00 PM to 11:55 PM. There is no weekend boat to the Metro.
- Fare: AED 2 per stop.
- By taxi or car. A taxi from Downtown takes about 15 minutes, and from Dubai Airport about 10 minutes. By car you come in via Ras Al Khor Road, with Al Khail Road as the other main route. Taxis can drop you at Creek Marina and the promenade entrances.
- Parking. There is parking around the district, the hotels and the restaurants. Emaar does not publish one single visitor parking rate for the whole area, and each venue can set its own terms. Check the signs where you park.
Times can change, so check the RTA app on the day.
Best time to visit
For the view, go in the late afternoon and stay past sunset. You get three looks in one visit: the golden hour, the sunset itself, and the skyline lit up at night.
For the season, the cooler months from November to March are the most comfortable for walking, and they are also the best months for the flamingos at Ras Al Khor. In summer, go after 5 PM when the heat drops.
Weekday evenings are the quietest. Friday to Sunday evenings are lively but crowded at The Viewing Point near sunset.
Is Dubai Creek Harbour free?
Yes, the visit itself is free. There is no entry ticket for the district, the promenade, the parks or The Viewing Point, and the Ras Al Khor hides are free too.
You only pay for what you choose: food and drinks, a taxi or the AED 2 boat, and parking if your venue charges it. That makes this one of the best value evenings in Dubai. A family can enjoy the sunset, the parks and the flamingos and spend almost nothing.
Tips for your visit
- Arrive at The Viewing Point 30 to 45 minutes before sunset on weekends. The rail fills up fast.
- Take photos from the end of the walkway first, then walk back slowly as the lights come on.
- Carry water. The promenade is open and sunny, and cafes are not at every step.
- Pair the trip with Ras Al Khor before sunset, or with dinner at Creek Marina after.
- If you come by boat, check the last boat time before you sit down for dinner. The weekend line to Festival City runs late, but the weekday line ends at 10:50 PM.
- The area is still growing. Some paths and plots are under construction, so follow the signs near building sites.
