Green Planet Dubai: Real Ticket Prices, the Halloween Weeks and What Is Inside

Two things confuse everyone about Green Planet Dubai. First, every website shows a different ticket price. Second, nobody tells you that you can pay less by booking online. This guide clears up both, because the price gap is real and worth knowing before you go.

Green Planet is Dubai’s indoor tropical rainforest, a giant glass bio-dome in City Walk with 3,000+ plants and animals, from sloths and toucans to a 35-metre artificial tree at its centre. And right now there is a timely reason to go: the Halloween programme runs until 31 October, with a daily magic show and weekend face painting for kids.

The short version: the Day Pass costs AED 175 at the gate, but AED 155 when you book online on the official site. Juniors (ages 2 to 10) are AED 150 at the gate and AED 135 online. Under-2s go free. The dome is open daily 10 AM to 6 PM, and most families spend 1.5 to 3 hours inside.

The price confusion has one simple cause: the official site sells the Day Pass cheaper online than at the gate. Here are both, side by side, so you never overpay:

TicketAt the gateOnline (official site)
Day Pass, Adult (11+)AED 175AED 155
Day Pass, Junior (2 to 10)AED 150AED 135

Checked: 22 October 2026, on the official Green Planet booking flow (thegreenplanetdubai.com). Prices can change, so re-check the booking page on the day you plan to visit.

Premium Pass, AED 215: the Day Pass plus a private lizard encounter, fish feeding, an animal map, a seed pen and a drink. Worth it if your kids love hands-on animal moments.

VIP Pass, AED 349 (minimum 2 bookings): a guided tour, lizard meet-and-greet, dessert and coffee, fish feeding, a photo and a retail voucher. This is the splurge option. Book it for a special occasion, not a casual visit.

Meal Deal add-on, AED 45: a main meal plus a drink inside the dome. Handy with kids, because leaving and re-entering eats into your visit.

Which ticket should you buy?

  • Most families: the online Day Pass. Book on the official site the day before and you save AED 20 per adult and AED 15 per junior versus the gate.
  • Kids under 10 who love animals: the Premium Pass at AED 215. The lizard encounter is the part they will talk about for weeks.
  • Never buy at the gate if you can book online in two minutes on your phone. The gate price is the same product for more money.
  • Skip the VIP unless it is a birthday or a special treat. The regular Day Pass already includes the whole rainforest.

Halloween at Green Planet (until 31 October)

The official site lists a Halloween programme running 16 to 31 October. This is the timely reason to visit this week rather than next:

  • Magic show: daily, 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM
  • Mascot and puppet show: daily, 10:30 AM to 3:00 PM
  • Face painting + scavenger hunt: Friday to Sunday

If you are reading this after 31 October, ignore this section. The programme is over and the dome returns to its normal experience.

What is inside: the four levels

The dome is built around a 35-metre artificial tree, and you walk down through the layers of a real rainforest:

  1. Canopy (top), the highest level, where birds and bats live. This is the best photography spot, looking down through the whole dome.
  2. Mid-story, monkeys, sloths and reptiles among the branches. The sloth is the star; it barely moves, so take your time.
  3. Forest Floor, the ground level with giant anteaters, porcupines and insects. Kids love the leaf-cutter ants.
  4. Flooded Rainforest, the aquarium level with piranhas, arapaima and stingrays in a giant tank.

There are also the Creatures of the Night zone (nocturnal animals in the dark, genuinely eerie) and the Nature Park outdoor area. Most people do the dome in 1.5 to 2 hours; animal lovers stay 3.

The dome is open daily, 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Third-party summaries note online sales stop at 3:30 PM and gate sales at 5:00 PM, so arrive by 4:00 PM at the latest to get a full visit.

Best time: weekday mornings, right at 10:00 AM. The animals are most active, the light through the dome is beautiful, and school groups usually arrive later. Weekends and the Halloween days are the busiest, so book the first slot you can.

Getting there and parking

Green Planet sits in City Walk, Al Safa Street, central Dubai, easy by taxi from anywhere (about 15 minutes from Downtown). The nearest metro is on the Red Line with a short taxi ride after; there is no metro station at the door.

Parking: sources conflict. The FAQ mentions 4 hours free with an AED 100 spend, while the Day Pass page says 3 hours. Plan around the shorter figure (3 hours), which comfortably covers a visit.

Tips before you go

  1. Book online, always. The gate price is higher for the identical ticket.
  2. Bring a light jacket. The dome is kept humid and warm like a real rainforest, but the air-conditioning in the entry areas is strong.
  3. Kids: the dome is stroller-friendly on the main path, but the experience suits ages 3+ best. Under-2s are free but will remember nothing.
  4. Photography: allowed, and the Canopy level at midday gives the best light through the glass.
  5. Do not touch the animals unless a keeper invites you to. The lizard encounter in the Premium Pass is the supervised way to get close.
